"So... what are we having for dinner?"

Cooking is rarely the hard part. Deciding, listing and shopping are. Plate & Cart lets you do all three in one short sitting, at your own Kroger-family store, so the rest of the week already has an answer.

Tuesday, sorted

The usual week

You know how it goes

  • Sunday: the list

Twenty open tabs of recipes, a list on the back of an envelope, and a nagging feeling something is missing.

  • Wednesday: the extra trip

The curry needs coconut milk. There is no coconut milk. Back out to the store you were at three days ago.

  • Friday: the fridge

Half a bunch of cilantro, a second jar of the same pesto, and takeout menus on the counter.

A different Sunday

One sitting, three steps, done for the week

  1. Pick your meals

Browse about 20 recipes and choose the week's dinners. Want peanut noodles twice? Add it twice.

  2. Check what you have

Every ingredient lands on one list. Tick off the garlic and olive oil you already own and they stay off.

  3. Send it to your store cart

Plate & Cart picks good-value products at your store and puts them in your own cart. You check out there.

Careful with the grocery money, without the spreadsheet

Thai red curry rice
  • Best value, automatically

It picks the cheapest pack sizes that still cover every recipe, so nothing gets bought twice.

  • Store brand first

Unless a national brand is on sale for less. Then the sale wins.

  • Your budget

Tell it what you like to spend in a week and see how the cart compares.

  • Your weekly day

Pick the day you shop. Away next week? Skip it.

  • Your usual store

Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, King Soopers, QFC and the other Kroger-family banners.

  • A list for the fridge door

Print it if you would rather shop in person.

What Plate & Cart will not do

Good questions

Which stores can I use?

Works with Kroger family stores such as Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, King Soopers and QFC.

Is it free?

Free while in beta. You pay your store for your groceries, as you do now.

Do I need a Kroger account?

Yes, the online account you use with your Kroger-family store. Plate & Cart adds items to that account's cart, and you check out there.

What if we cook for more than two?

Add a recipe more than once and the quantities scale with it.

Can I skip a week?

Yes. A skipped week builds no list and sends nothing to your cart.

How do I get an invite?

Ask for one below. If someone has already sent you a code, you can create your account straight away.
